Lee Minho will be in Singapore two weeks later, on 24th October for a 2D1N promotional trip. Lee Min Ho is coming to Singapore in OCTOBER!

It was announced today that actor, Lee Minho will be dropping by Singapore this October and meet his fans.

He will be in Singapore to officiate at the opening ceremony for the second Etude House outlet (for which he models) at Ion Orchard. To celebrate the opening of the second outlet in Singapore in the short period of 3 months, the brand decided on having Lee Minho in Singapore to make the occasion an even joyous one.

Lee Minho will drop by Singapore for a 2D1N trip on 10th October, and it will be a pretty packed schedule, incorporating a fanmeeting. Details like places he will go to, number of people accompaying him, etc are not known yet.

He is not the first Boys Over Flowers star to visit Singapore as his fiance in the drama, Lee Min Jung had already dropped by in June, for the launch of the new Sony Ericsson mobile phones for the Asia Pacific region, for which she is the model for. Fans in Singapore are advised to frequent Etude House at Plaza Singapura or look out for promotions in newspapers/magazines for the latest on Lee Minho's trip here.

LEE MIN HO FAN MEETING SCAM ALERT

Lee Minho's huge popularity in Thailand is undeniable especially after Boys Over Flowers and him flying over to Bangkok to film a commercial in April. But there will be some who would try to cash in on his popularity through illegal means and that's exactly what happened to Lee Minho recently.

It was revealed on a Thai website that a Lee Minho fanmeeting in Bangkok, will be taking place on 24th October, at a venue which would house 2,000 fans. It caused confusion among fans when ticket prices were jacked up from the original price of 200,000 KRW to 800,000 KRW (640 USD), with accomodation and food provided. The website also indicated that Lee Minho would be singing 2 songs, playing games with 2 - 3 lucky fans and a showing of Lee Minho's past movies/dramas.

'Ga Eul' takes part in BOF Japanese promotions!

As the fans of the hit drama Boys Over Flowers already know, a Story of Four Flowers will be released on September 5th. On the same day, they will be having promotions for the release in Japan. This will be the second Japanese promotion for the drama and it's about time Kim So Eun gets to take part and make an appearance.

The promotions will go on for two days, September 5th and 6th at the Yokohama National University Hall. Artists such as T-Max, Howl, Im Ju Hwan, and of course SS501 are expected to perform on stage. Not only will Kim So Eun get to make an appearance this time, but it has been reported that she will be making a stage performance as well. Lee Min Ho is also expected to show up on the 5th while Kim Bum and Goo Hye Sun will join the rest of the cast on the 6th.

The sales for the photobook seems like its going well in Japan, it is noted as number one for preorder lately. The scene will definitely be overwhelming at the promotions!

Story of Four Flowers Photobook to be released on 5th Sep 2009

The photo book which is titled Story of Four Flowers (SOFF), captures the F4 members of Lee Min Ho, Kim Hyun Joong, Kim Bum and Kim Joon at their charming best, with pre-orders beginning on 17th August. Even though the publisher are only taking in pre-orders at the moment for the 168 pages photo book, the response have been very encouraging. It was revealed that fans who buy the photo book will be able to see the F4 members, together with the natural beautiful scenery of Korea as the backdrop, showcasing a different charisma from their drama characters. There will also be a DVD included which contains private movie clips.

South Korean actors Lee Min-Ho (right on the first photo) and Kim Jun hit the Chinese city of Guangzhou on July 4 to promote the TV serials "Boys over Flowers".

Lee Min Jung: Fame comes with a price to pay

Korean actress Lee Min Jung shot to fame with her appearance in the mega drama Boys over Flowers. The upcoming starlet came to Singapore last week for a sponsored event to launch Sony Ericsson's new mobile range. The actress admitted that more companies have approached her to be their spokesperson given her rising popularity and more people now recognize her on the streets. However, fame comes with a price to pay. Having to look her best and maintain her poise every second of the day has become an invisible form of pressure to her.

"I'm now obligated to portray the best side of me; this can be quite pressurizing. It is no longer that easy to get out of the house now since more people recognize me. I have to make sure I look good before I step out," Lee said.

For the past few years, news about Korean stars committing suicide due to the pressure raged, and this includes Lee's co-actress in Boys over Flowers Jang Ja Yun. Recently, actor Kim Hyun Joong who played Yoon Ji Hoo in the drama was reported to be admitted to the hospital due to fatigue. This again aroused the public to speculate about the immense pressure faced by celebrities in Korea, and that only the fittest survives the entertainment circle.

When faced with stress, Lee chooses to relax with music, chilling out with friends or reading. "My seniors have advised me to learn to enjoy the pressure and the attention given to us. We are fated to be under everyone's scrutiny because we are celebrities," she added.

According to online reports, Lee acted in her first movie in 2003, and her popularity rose only recently after her role in Boys over Flowers as the fiancée of the male lead Gu Jun Pyo. Her role as Ha Jae Kyeong is a candid and well-liked figure in the drama.

In an online polling hosted by a China website, the pair played by Lee Min Jung and Lee Min Ho was voted the most popular couple in the show, defeating the lead couple in the show played by Goo and Lee Min Ho. "Goo Jun Pyo and Geum Jan Di met and fell in love first in the drama, and she's also the one who opened up his hearts. I will wish that they end up together," Lee said.

Although playing as love rivals in the show, Lee and Goo are the best of friends in real life. Lee even uploaded photos of them together on her blog, which roused another discussion amongst the netizens.

"Both of us like the same genre of music, the same kind of food, for example mixed rice and dumplings. However, after the end of the shoot, we seldom contact each other as everyone was busy. Really hope that we will have a chance to meet up after I go back home this time round," she explained.

Claimed to be innocent and sexy at the same time, Lee hopes she can try other roles rather than getting stuck with "goody-two-shoes" roles. She hopes to dabble in comedies or horror flicks if given a chance and wishes to challenge roles with stronger characteristics or roles that will allow her to reveal her dark side.

Hello there! I'm Aina. These are some photos i took at Iluma.The quality isnt that good i must agree and it's due to my camera.

Well, meeting Lee Min Jeong/Jung was like getting to meet the Boys Over Flowers cast.

I was very excited! I was like, 'Finally! A Boys Over Flowers actress is in Singapore.' I can't explain it in words. Haha!

One of the OMY (an English/Mandarin web portal) people asked me some questions:

Reporter: Do you know who you're meeting today?
Me: Lee Min Jun.

Embarrassing right?

I was too excited and my legs were wobbling. It was difficult to stand properly. I even had to think for a while to answer that question. I forgot her name.Gah!

So, I was simply very MALU.

She then asked me a couple more questions.

When I saw her poster, I almost wanted to pee because I couldn't believe that she is/was in Singapore, the tiny tiny country on the map.

Skip to her arrival yeah?

When she arrived, I was speechless. She was so beautiful and she looked really perfect. Flawless. Then she started introducing herself and told us more about what she was doing. She spoke in Korean therefore there was one lady beside her to translate her words for us in English. She told us more about the Sony Ericsson phone: C903.

She turned back a few times to smile at us fans.She waved too! I was about to capture that when the Security Guard moved and all i got on the camera was his shirt.-.-"

She gave out prizes to winners from the i/u weekly contest. After a couple of minutes,it was time for her to leave.The translator told us to say something to her in Korean before she goes off.It was: "Min Jung/Jeong Unni,SarangHae!" Hahha.Then she left.

Some fans ran after her to the elevator and I was one of them.Then I went down the escalator and well,ran till the carpark where she drove off.There were only a few of us less than 20, there to see her leave.We waved to her and she waved back.She was smiling. I was so happy that day. I wish the rest of the Boys Over Flowers cast would come to Singapore soon!

LMH of “BOF” will go on Asian promotion

LMH will visit major Asian countries from June till September and meet fans face to face.
From the Taiwan promo in early June, China in July, Philippine in August and Japan in September
Japan promo will be final.

Considering the visit to Thailand and Japan in April he will visit major Asian countries actually.
His action is active to mark the dots to “Gu Jun Pyo” fever starting from the airing of ‘BOF’ in Asian
countries since April in Japan and Taiwan.

Mr. Han Su Han, the manager of Starhaus entertainment of LMH’s management company
told “There were many visit inquiries from Asian countries. So we adjusted his schedule in order
to meet as many countries and fans as possible.” “For the time being he will focus on working
for hallyu promotion. And will not make haste in his next project.”

LMH’s promotion schedule is very odd because it is started after the finishing point of
‘BOF’ local airing. It is general for drama promotion to start before it’s airing. The peak foreign
airing schedule is on Japanese TV TBS in July summer vacation season.

LMH will visit Japan in September after the airing of ‘BOF’. And for this Mr. Han Su Han says
“it’s a strategy to meet fans after raising of his recognition through drama. In order to
dramatize the effect we decide another way than previous promotion. and we think it’s more
effective to raise additional profit as re-run and dvd sales.”

While LMH will go through operation of removal of iron core on his knee after Taiwan
visit in early June.

Excessive downloading of BOF drama aggravates Taiwanese fans

Taiwanese audiences are aggravated! The high-rated popular drama 「Boys over Flowers」 (BoF) which began airing in Korea at the beginning of this year has gotten Taiwanese fans into anger.

Whilst enjoying its high popularity ratings in Korea, BoF turned out to be warmly welcomed in Japan too. However when it began telecasting in Taiwan, it came out with only a rating of 1.33%, which was lower than expectations. And the Taiwanese audiences were very alarmed over this because they had began the headstart of the BoF craze many years back. It was hard to believe.

One of the reasons could be due to the numerous numbers of Mandarin translations of the drama and its downloads available, which allowed many of the audiences to have already catched the drama on the net. Also, the Taiwan TV station which was responsible for broadcasting had did many amendments to the music of the drama too. Under the many factors and reasons, it thus explained the ratings which turned out below expectations.

Another reason was because the version which the TW TV station had broadcasted was actually dubbed, and this lost the originality of Goo Junpyo's naturally sexy voice, which, in replacement, was another dubbed voice-over, similar to some counterfeit branded goods. Jihoo-sunbae's voice-over sounded even more like that of a woman's, which just surfaced the many disagreements and unhappiness of the audiences.

Netizens have also brought up the point that online downloading indeed brings about a devastating impact. Actually the version on air is the dubbed version, and to many audiences, watching the downloaded version with the original voicing and subtitles on the internet would be a much more attractive deal for them rather than watching the dubbed version with voice-overs that turn audiences off.

Some of the main theme songs and interludes which depicts some very essential scenes in the drama were modified by the TV station as well, and for this, netizens feel that watching the downloaded original version would be a more worthy choice. Yet, the TV station liable for broadcasting BoF -- CTV -- had a different opinion toward this, "because many of the overseas edition of K-dramas are different with the original Korean edition", so the condition that Taiwan brought up was: besides dubbing, they would not and will not do any form of modifications.

On a lighter note, the leads of the drama Lee Minho and Goo Hyesun would be heading over to Taiwan for 3D2N, starting 1 Jun for a series of promotional activities. The last day of event would be to have breakfast with fans, and the cost of registration for this activity is shockingly high (~200,000 KRW); still, the tickets for registration of the breakfast event was sold out within a minute after it was declared sale, which allowed everybody to feel the high rising popularity of the leads.

KBS2 hit drama “Boys Over Flowers” will finish up their F4 music drama on May 19th and it’ll be airing on Mnet, starting at 6pm for a full hour (60 minutes).

“F4 After Story” will again tell the myth of the four people, F4 and their story will be told in a music drama format. They have aired the Kim Bum& Kim Joon’s part a few weeks back, and fans are waiting for LeeMin Ho & Kim Hyun Joong’s part to come out. This Tuesday, we’ll finally watch their part of the “After Story” on the full hour special edition of “F4 After Story” on Mnet.

In addition, “F4 After Story” will release its background music through Mnet music portal side (www.mnet.com) on the same day.

F4 to visit Philippines!

The four male lead stars of a hit Korean telenovela, “Boys Over Flowers,” are coming to the Philippines.

Koreansuperstars Lee Min-Ho (Jun Pyo), Kim Hyun-Joong (Ji Hoo), Kim Bum (SoYi Jeong) and Kim Joon (Song Woo Bin), or popularly called "F4," willvisit the country, “The Buzz” host Kris Aquino announced Sunday.

There is no date yet as to when the stars will arrive in the Philippines but Aquino said it is going to be “soon.”

Basedon the best-selling Japanese manga "Hana Yori Dango" by Yoko Kamio, theromantic story was first adapted in Taiwan as the phenomenal hit drama“Meteor Garden,” which aired on ABS-CBN in 2003. It starred Asia’ssensational boyband F4.

"Meteor Garden" remains to be one of themost successful Asianovelas aired on Philippine television, with anaverage rating of 42.9 percent in mega Manila and a nationwide averagerating of 62 percent.

South Korea's "Boys Over Flowers,"meanwhile, garnered an average rating of 30 percent. The show had agreat impact on Korean pop culture as sales of men's cosmetics andfashion items skyrocketed and the female lead's hairstyle ruled thefashion world.

The Korean remake of "F4" also launched the careers of the four Asian superstars.

Aquino said the producers of the Korean show were grateful that, like Meteor Garden, it also became a hit in the Philippines.

StartingMonday, “Boys Over Flowers” will be aired at 6 p.m. before “TV PatrolWorld.” It takes over the timeslot of “Pinoy Bingo Night,” which willnow be aired after “Tayong Dalawa.”

There're alot of enquires regarding the F4 5 years later story Part 2 - Jun Pyo & Ji Hoo's episodes.

At the end of Part 1, there was the Jun Pyo's preview and it was mentioned that Part 2 will be shown "next week" and supposedly, this week. But there was zilch link & news/statement from Mnet.

There're many speculations circulating:

1. After flamings from the neitzens, they decided to reshoot the music drama.

2. It will be shown next week instead.

ALL THESE SPECULATIONS ARE NOT CONFIRMED AND THEY MIGHT BE UNTRUE.

We'll update as soon as possible as we've information on that.

Mark your calendars! In addition to the existing three volume soundtrack for the hit show Boys Over Flowers, a F4 Special Edition album will be released on the 28th. This 4th album from the drama series will feature songs from each F4 member, Kim Joon, Kim Bum, Lee Min Ho and Kim Hyun Joong. Already the album's music drama teaser, mysteriously revealed on the 22nd, has already captured the attention of netizens and fans alike with thousands of views despite minimal promotion. The full 25 minute music drama will be out on 28th April through MNET.com

The music drama's concept will be told from Woo Bin's (Kim Joon) point of view, five years later. As the leading man, his female interest will be a newcomer actress. Finally Woo Bin has a love interest?? Maybe something like Andre Kim's fashion show? Other questions include, will we get a wedding scene between Joon Pyo and Jandi? Will Ji Hoo get a love interest? Will there be a proper closure for Yi Jung and Gal Eul?

This reunion affirms the F4's real life friendship to come together once again for each other despite their busy schedules. A source revealed that the cast members had reunited on the 23rd to record the album in the studio. As for whether there will be a 4-member group collaboration, the source went on to say that because of the the different sounds and feel of each F4 member's voice, it would be hard for them to sing together as a group. Each member will feature a song recorded on his own.

Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, a member of Japanese pop music group SMAP, was arrested Thursday for allegedly stripping naked under the influence of alcohol at a Tokyo park around 3 a.m., the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department said. This incident may affect Korean drama BOF's promotion in Japan.

The Boys Over Flowers Story Continues…

BOF MUSIC DRAMA

The Boys Over Flowers story is set to continue on April 28th with a special edition. The story continues with the F4 five years later. Goo Jun Pyo's fro isn't as curly and there's no sign of leading lady Geum Jandi. While Kim Hyun Joong is there as Ji Hoo sunbae, his scenes are from the drama when he had longer hair. It is set to be a music drama, an extended music video? Netizens are grateful for the cast putting together something like this during their busy schedules. The video appeared on a Naver blog user Planet905, which looks like Kim Joon/T-Max's representative company.

It will be nice to see what the Shinhwa School alumni have been up to five years down the road.

Confirmed: BOF drama slot - 9.30, Saturday Nights

It has been confirmed at MediaCorp TV forum that Boys Over Flowers will be airing on Channel U, every Saturday, 9.30pm.

The controversy is about whether the weekend night slot is any good for the drama and us.

I personally think the Saturday, 9.30pm slot is a big fail. Why don't they have it every weekday at 7pm like Goong, where all the little kids can watch it too?

There might be a possibility that it is because of the 'violence' and 'abuse' that caused the drama to be shifted to the 9.30pm slot.

WILL BE SHOWN ON SINGAPORE TV SOON!

The advertisement for Boys Over Flowers was shown on Singapore TV Channel U today. It was a very short (approximately 5 seconds) advertisement, with the F4 Red Card flashed on the screen and followed by “你被盯上了” which means 'you have been targeted at'. Keep glued to your screen for it!

Speculations:

I don't think BOF will be shown on Weekdays, 7pm because the current Korean drama (Likeable Or Not) has more than one hundred episodes.

I don't think BOF will be shown on Weekdays, 10pm because there will be a new Hong Kong drama taking up the slot after the current HK drama finishes.

I think BOF will be shown on Saturday nights, after Superstar Express / ToGetHer has ended. If this is true, it means that Taiwan (CTV) & Singapore will be broadcasting the drama at the same time because Channel U is currently telecasting Superstar Express / ToGetHer together with GTV. (CTV is also showing Superstar Express / ToGetHer). CTV will broadcast Boys Over Flowers on 10th May.

If that's true, shouldn't Lee Min Ho and Goo Hye Sun come to Singapore to promote the drama too?

BOF Cast to appear on SMAPxSMAP

Lee Min Ho, Kim Hyun Joong, Kim Bum and Kim Joon will soon be appearing on Japanese Fuji TV flagship program SMAPxSMAP as part of their Japan promotions. They had left for Japan on the 15th via Gimpo International Airport, along with Goo Hye Sun. SMAPxSMAP is a popular program with Japanese viewers and is hosted by popular group Smap. Their selection of guests on the show are very stringent so it's always a big honor if you get invited.

Korean celebrities who have appeared on the show in the past include Jang Dong Gun, Lee Young Ae, Choi Ji Woo, Kwon Sang Woo, DBSK and Rain. The F4 members will share exciting stories behind the scenes of Boys Before Flowers and their thoughts on meeting with their Japanese fans. According to someone from the Boys Before Flowers production team. "Everyone knows that SMAPxSMAP is a super popular program in Japan so we hope that their popularity levels here will surge even further after this."

They will be staying for 3 days in Japan for promotions and have a fan meeting on the 16th at Tokyo's JCB Hall. Goo Hye Sun, SS501 and T-Max will also be involved.
